learning starts by interest, listening then reading and finally interacting

postgresql.gifOk I admit I have written a weird subject on this post, but I’m sick of listening (almost) everybody pronounce “posgre” when in fact PostgreSQL is pronounced like /po:st gres kju: el/; . Please follow this link and listen http://www.postgresql.org/files/postgresql.mp3

In Portuguese we call this “Chamar os bois pelos nomes” and translating this phrase is something like “Calling the bulls by its names”… or Elephants in this case. :)

… so please, interact! and remember this knowledge cicle ends when you start over < subject here> but without interest!

(… this kind of stuff remembers me those guys who pronounce LaTeX like when they call a Taxi, it’s the lolocaust…)

Today I fell like a totaly bitch!

I have installed Debian GNU/Linux version 4.0 rev3 on my second laptop! WTF Dude!

Last time I did this on my last job, it was Slackware Linux (version here) in the year 2000. Great isn’t it! Then I got fired LOL (kidding)

Next days I will be doing some Install Bomb Party on it and some additional tests also. Now guys, I have many things to put on sync since then. Many functionalities maybe new (for me) or do I say “they are just another way of doing the same things, but slowly :)” are waiting for me to destroy :D

Hey this one is real cool. Debian does configure your keyboard layout automagicaly for you!! This is f*cken great Mike.

Under FreeBSD I have always to instruct inputrc and add some more info to /etc/rc.conf , this is so hard and boring!

Debian 1 - FreeBSD 0

I will write more about this very soon.

Como um relógio Suíço aqui temos o FreeBSD Quartly Status Report à maneira!

De entre os inúmeros tópicos, irei salientar e comentar aqueles que pela sua importância ou porque de alguma forma estão mais ligados ao meu dia-a-dia, me parecem mais interessantes.

E claro, nota-se que fico contente sempre que acabo de lêr um Status destes!
