Doesn’t matter on which site it is. Boring ads are always boring ads.

For non english readers “Máquina dos Peidos” is “Fart Machine” as you can guess by the draw.

I play! (a lot)

Interesting talk by Stuart Brown about play and fun. What we as humans are loosing because of this adult non-playing life style we are living these days.

crisis cutting expenses all around

Many thanks for your freedom while it was free!

max_allowed_photos = 200. I have hit this number!

cutting expenses

Three simple facts why I will not buy a Flickr pro a account:

- I don’t see myself as a Flickr pro user!
- I don’t see myself as a pro photographer!
- There is no middle option for users like us!

, so I will stop uploading photos to Flickr for a while.

but… in fact I am enjoying this new sport “cutting down expenses!” :)

have fun!

from Ninja Mind Control book

“… After a certain level of experience has been attained, the Ninja gains the ability to employ powers that in many circles would be considered almost psychic.  The charisma of such a fighter is such that he attracts to himself, without effort, a body of followers.  These followers may appear as students or associates, and they are completely loyal upon initiation.  They may band together for a common goal or seek counsel; but in either event, they will remain loyal only as long as the behavior of the leader is constant…”

I can apply this last phrase to many things in life.

Enjoy

Congrats twitter team. I did love this one.

I am a little sick of reading posts about “how would I scale twitter”, but ok this is my bad temper speaking.

“… To those taking the time to blog about our architecture, I encourage you to check out our jobs page. If you want to make Twitter better, there’s no more direct way than getting involved in our engineering efforts. We love kicking around ideas, but code speaks louder than words…”

This is what I call a “Gran finale” :)

Young BOFH

Today I’m working with some legacy systems and I just remembered when I had my hands on systems like Irix, SCO and Netware…funny days and stressing too :/

Serve o presente post apenas para deixar um ping à lá “I am alive and kicking asses!”

- Practical Ruby for Systems Administration, (dar em doido :S)
- The Ruby way, (muito bom mesmo)
- Elementos de Cálculo Financeiro (dass),
- Investigação Operacional (gasss-se),
- A very short introduction to Inteligence, (heheeh mesmo burro),
- 5 volumes de Solaris 10 (lindo!),
- (top secret books to conquer the world) (<- verdade)

:) sorry

The good, the bad and the ‘void’!

Some “nice to record” quotes from an article about Leadership.

“…Leadership at all levels requires getting the whole organization involved in a dialogue…”

“…Those with a leadership mindset are: future-focused, inquisitive, influential and constantly learning. They don’t wait until senior management “names” them a leader. They assume they already are…”

and finaly,

”…Individual leadership development is important, but the real key to success lies in the conversations that shape the leadership culture…”
