Well,
iPods nano always did via the Nike+ sensor

You plug the pedometer in your shoes and plug the receiver in your iPod nano.
The great news is, this week Apple release a fresh new iPod nano version with this receiver built in

but you need to buy the shoes sensor anyway… but in half price

It’s a shame we can’t use it with the 3G model…
This obviously won’t rush me into buying the 3GS BUT it’s something to consider in the future ;o)
