about cutting expenses
Because (my last post) was a Little strange for those who don’t have access to my bank account (well I think all of you), I must share this:

I am just adjusting some long term investments. In some cases this represent a cut I must make but in others represents an additional investment too, example:
I had a server at home. On it I hosted this and other sites too. I used this server to many other things as well. Hosting websites, as a testing platform, developing, contributing for FreeBSD as a port maintainer and so on.
In the last 3 years or so, my spare time has disappeared! The “thing” is, I am attending a night school degree on Systems Information since 2006, so I get back home very late!

Path projects, developing for opensource communities, managing a self-hosted site and all it’s implications (updating the system, (kerneland, userland, ports), migrate to new tools and close tickets for projects with no direct cash return, it’s like impossible to handle! Nop, I don’t have any kind of SLA but I like to keep my word on things!
So, returning back to the post topic, I have bought an account on Dreamhost (shame on me) where I land all my things. Result: the management time, responsibility, power, redundancy, etc I have delegated to this guys while I don’t have brain peace to this.
In this scenario I thing this investment makes sense because while I am paying for a service, I am also saving time to get others things done.
On the other side, the Flickr scenario, well in fact as I already said, I don’t like the proposal.
Flickr: “Black or white. Choose a color!”
include: “No middle term? Ok then, for now I’m gona save some extra money!

Well, it’s all about money dance, sometimes I don’t like the music, so I will wait for the next one or else I am forced change it by hand.
