Some weeks ago I have received an e-mail from *Satish Talim*, founder of “*PuneRuby*”:http://www.puneruby.com/blog/ in India, asking me to answer some questions about myself and what I think about Ruby.

First I was very happy and surprise, then I wrote him this:

Francisco Alves Cabrita>> Ruby is fresh, modern and simple, it is versatile as Perl is, it has gems as Perl has CPAN, and I like the way Matz talks about Ruby and other languages too, with respect. Matz also says there is no need to re-invent the wheel and why rewrite things as Perl Regexp !?

I consider myself a newbie in many things in life and that’s because I really do like to learn new ways of getting things done, and Ruby makes my life easier.

And last but not the least, a very important thing that attracted me to Ruby was the great community behind it.
