*This is so nice*!!
Some weeks ago I have received an e-mail from *Satish Talim*, founder of “*PuneRuby*”:http://www.puneruby.com/blog/ in India, asking me to answer some questions about myself and what I think about Ruby.
First I was very happy and surprise, then I wrote him this:
“*PuneRuby: Interview with Francisco Alves Cabrita*”:http://www.puneruby.com/blog/?p=100
“…
Satish Talim>> Given the choices out there, why did you select Ruby?
Francisco Alves Cabrita>> Ruby is fresh, modern and simple, it is versatile as Perl is, it has gems as Perl has CPAN, and I like the way Matz talks about Ruby and other languages too, with respect. Matz also says there is no need to re-invent the wheel and why rewrite things as Perl Regexp !?
I consider myself a newbie in many things in life and that’s because I really do like to learn new ways of getting things done, and Ruby makes my life easier.
And last but not the least, a very important thing that attracted me to Ruby was the great community behind it.
…”
Well, you are invited to read the complete interview.
PS: I know the photo is to big, sorry !!!

Well, I have the pleasure to present one new .org domain.
“*http://www.ruby-pt.org*”:http://www.ruby-pt.org/
After some mail exchange between some guys, we have decided to create a solid and active Ruby Brigade here in Portugal.
The main idea is to build a site to promote Ruby and Rails framework in our country with:
* Ruby News;
* Apps/Tools built by portuguese guys;
* Events: social/techs and Hackdays too;
* Tutorials/Howto’s;
* Finally a place where everybody can find help and learn with others!
Please, Stay Tuned !
The project will start in the very beginning of November 2006!

There’s another world inside of me, That you may never see There’s secrets in this life, That I can’t hide Somewhere in this darkness, There’s a light that I can’t find, Maybe it’s too far away…Maybe I’m just blind…
Maybe I’m just blind…
So hold me when I’m here, Love me when I’m wrong, Hold me when I’m scared, And love me when I’m gone, Everything I am, And everything you need, I’ll also be the one You wanted me to be, I’ll never let you down Even if I could, I’d give up everything if only for your good, So hold me when I’m here, Love me when I’m wrong, You can hold me when I’m scared, You won’t always be there so love me when I’m gone
Love me when I’m gone
When your education x-ray
Can not see under my skin
I won’t tell you a damn thing, That I could not tell my friend, Roaming through this darkness, I’m alive but I’m alone, Part of me is fighting this But part of me is gone
Maybe I’m just blind
Love me when I’m gone…
Love me when I’m gone
when I’m gone
when I’m gone
When I’m gone

New Prices for the Workshops
We know it’s terrible on top of the deadlines, but thanks to our nice sponsors we’ve managed to cut down the prices for the workshops, so for all of those registered for them and those that we’re still considering attending any of them, these are most certainly good news:

* ! Never read your work mail before going to bed, else you may keep waked up all night long.
* ! Do not mix up your work. Keep doing your homework at home and your daily job in the interprise(if you don’t work from home of course
), but never switch them!
* ! Make a big picture of your time schedule and stick it in the wall for everybody to see you have personal projects running
, and yes shedule your gym time too.

Today after receiving a mail from Kris Kennaway about the lack of mirrors in the Makefile of my “Joomla port”:http://www.freshports.org/www/joomla/ , I went to “Joomla Official website”:http://www.joomla.org and posted a message about this subject, and the anwser was…
Brian…
Joomla! Hero
Mirrors for what? The main distribution of Joomla. If so then there are no official mirrors
BTW keep up the good work over at FreeBSD
So, there are no mirros, but maybe we can solve this issue, just read the rest os the post.

Once again I get a “thanks” for my contibution with Open Source Communities, and I am happy with that, even if the contribution is so tiny as this.
